Delete your GeoQuestly account
How to have your GeoQuestly account and the data belonging to it deleted — from inside the app, or by writing to us if you no longer have it installed.
Version 1.3 · 20 October 2026
Ask us to delete your account
You do not need the app for this, and you do not need to reinstall it. Write to Mandrill Software GmbH, the company that operates GeoQuestly, and we will delete your account and the GeoQuestly data belonging to it.
The button below opens a message with the subject already filled in. Please leave the subject as it is — it is what makes sure the request is recognised as one — and write the rest yourself.
- Deletion requests
- info@mandrill.softwareSubject: GeoQuestly account deletion request
So that we can find the right account, tell us:
- your GeoQuestly handle, or the display name shown on your profile,
- the address you sign in with, if you are writing from a different one,
- that you want the account deleted, rather than only asking a question about it.
That is all we need. Please do not send a copy of an identity document unless we ask you for one.
We may have to check that the request really comes from the account holder before acting on it — usually by asking you to confirm it from the address you sign in with. Deleting the wrong person’s account is the one mistake here that cannot be undone, so we would rather ask.
We will confirm when it is done, within 30 days of being able to establish that the request is yours. If you have not heard from us, write again — a request that went unnoticed is our problem to fix, not yours.
Never send us a password, a sign-in code or any other credential — not in this message, and not anywhere else. We will never ask for one, and we do not need one to delete your account.
Or delete it yourself, in the app
If you still have GeoQuestly installed you can do this yourself, and it starts immediately: open the main menu, go to "Account", and use the deletion option in the danger zone. You will be asked to type DELETE to confirm and to sign in again, because an account should not be deletable by whoever picked up an unlocked phone.
The same screen also offers deactivation, which is reversible and is the better choice if you only want to disappear for a while. Deletion is not reversible, and we cannot restore an account afterwards.
What deletion does
Deleting your account erases the account itself and everything that makes it yours:
- your profile — display name, handle and profile picture — is erased,
- your friendships, follows and friend requests, your group memberships and invitations, and your location-sharing settings together with any position still held for you, are deleted,
- your registered devices and the addresses notifications were delivered to are deleted,
- the arrival and departure alerts you were a subject or a recipient of stop naming you,
- the records of your requests to the AI — what you wrote to it, what it answered or proposed, and your drafts — are deleted; its answers in a group chat stay there like any other message,
- the sign-in account GeoQuestly holds for you is deleted, and your user record is emptied and kept only as a marker, so that the same sign-in cannot be turned back into a live account.
What deletion does not do is unwrite what you wrote to other people. Posts, comments, chat messages and reactions stay where they are, as do map features you added to a group and your accepted participation in events that have already ended. They show as written by a deleted user — your name, handle and picture are gone from them — because removing them would take apart conversations and records that belong to other people as much as to you.
So if there is something you would rather was not there at all, deal with it before you delete the account. Your own posts and chat messages you can delete yourself in the app; once the account is deleted, you no longer can.
Deleting your GeoQuestly account does not delete an account you may hold with a provider you used to sign in. That account is not ours to delete.
Credits still on the account are lost when it is deleted; they have no cash value and are not paid out. The record that a purchase was made and delivered — the store’s transaction identifier, the product, the amount and the dates — is kept for as long as accounting law requires, under the marker that replaces your user record, so that a refund the store issues later can still be matched to it.
Where the details are
The privacy statement describes everything GeoQuestly holds, how long each thing is kept, and who else ever sees it. The terms of use set out the right to delete your account as part of the agreement, and the legal notice says who we are.
